The origins of Paul Rosenbauer's artistic practice are in the look-and-feel of skateboarding and hip-hop culture.

The skilled redesign of letters and symbols has therefore always been a strong influence and the main subject of his work.

As a product designer, Paul Rosenbauer worked with wood and metal and got the technical know-how for his own letter art.

He learned how to use tools and materials and about the precision and detailed planning that arts and crafts require. 

Inspired by posters and typographies of the Viennese Secession, by Graffiti and Brazilian street art, Paul Rosenbauer developed technically precise calligraphy that only at first glance looks like improvisation.

What seems abstract art, is not anymore once you decipher the characters.
